HIMANSHU DUA
CO-FOUNDER AND HEAD OF PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AND SALES
Himanshu Dua has previously originated a number of carbon offset and sustainable projects including:
Coal mine methane projects in China
Sustainable forestry in Nicaragua
Carbon Forestry projects in New Zealand
He successfully executed one of the first New Zealand Unit carbon trades in the world and also executed an offtake agreement for over $50M of EU/CDM credits with a large buyer in the Europe
Previous to founding Green Carbon, Himanshu was an Executive in Strategy and Consumer Banking at Westpac Banking Corporation, a consultant at Bain & Co. and co-founded a management consulting company, ICG
He is currently responsible for documenting the Bolivian carbon project, obtaining approval and marketing the carbon offsets to wholesale and retail buyers around the world.
MIGUEL ROCKHOLT
HEAD OF FORESTRY
Miguel Rockholt is an experienced business executive who has a track record of originating and implementing complex projects
He is the co-founder of Green Carbon and has sourced the Bolivian opportunities for forestry conservation projects
In 2010, he successfully gained approval for a 150,000ha sustainable forestry project
He is responsible for managing the completion of technical forestry analysis and quantification and ongoing tribal, indigenous council and government relations
He is ably supported by our Bolivian team of forestry, legal and tribal relationship experts
Previously, Miguel founded Holdrock Constructions managing construction and infrastructure projects between USD$2M and $30M
He has previously been a government advisor and worked for Dell Holdings across North and South America
EDWIN YSIDORO
CARBON QUANTIFICATION
Edwin is the leader of Rusteak SRL, Green Carbon’s chosen experts in the field of forestry analysis.
Edwin has led the project to quantify the carbon in the soil and the carbon in the forest through soil and plot sampling
He has led a number of forestry field studies as an independent contractor, for Rusteak SRL and for Green Carbon
Edwin is a qualified Forestry Engineer, has a degree in Environmental Sciences from the Gabriel Rene Moreno Autonomous University as a well as a Diploma in Ecological Sanitation and Climate Change
He has completed many specialist courses including the use of Geographical Systems applied to the Management and Monitoring of Natural Resources
Moving forward, he will be responsible for our annual forestry analysis on the ground
HELDER MONTANO
LEGAL COUNSEL
Helder is an experienced legal counsel and is responsible for ensuring the integrity of Green Carbon’s agreements with our indigenous partners, understanding land title and ownership and the constitution and laws relating to our project
He is qualified lawyer with a Degree in Law from UPDS University
Moving forward, Helder will assist in the establishment of the NGO and trust to distribute monies to tribes and continually facilitate all parties to meet their legal obligations under the REDD+ project agreements
JUAN CARLOS
CIDOB RELATIONSHIP MANAGER
Juan Carlos liaises with CIDOB (the Council of Indigenous Peoples of Bolivia) to communicate REDD+ projects and their benefits for the indigenous tribes
He has worked with CIDOB to:
Identify the tribal leaders that have authority to enter contracts
Brief the tribal leaders as to what REDD+ projects are and their obligations
Facilitate the execution of contracts between Green Carbon and the Tribes
Juan Carlos is the only person accredited by CIDOB to present and facilitate REDD+ projects in Bolivia
Previously, Juan Carlos has worked with CIDOB in developing training programs and educating the tribes in how to strengthen their own development
LAZARO LABERAN
INDIGENOUS RELATIONS
Previous relevant experience includes:
Leader of CPESC (Coordinator of Ethnic Peoples of Santa Cruz)
Responsible for monitoring CIDOB and its outcomes
Director of River Transport for Indigenous Peoples
He has a post graduate degree in the Law of Indigenous Peoples, Governance and International Cooperation from the University of Madrid, Spain
Moving forward Lazaro will continue to be responsible for facilitation of community consultation, training, monitoring and other relationship issues as they arise
Lazaro has been instrumental in:
Educating the tribes on REDD+ projects:
Training in forestry monitoring
Facilitating monitoring of their lands
MANUEL ECHEVERRIA
COO FOREST MONITORING
He currently manages a team of ~40 people from the indigenous tribes who monitor high risk areas across 5 land parcels and 3.5m ha
Manuel and his team have identified over 84 incidences of illegal logging, land clearing and trespass and have significantly contributed to materially reducing the rate of deforestation over the past 5 years in our project areas and the broader reference region around the project
Previously Manuel has worked in the Ministry of Rural Development and Land, the Land Titles Office (INRA) and on Indigenous Development Programs
Manuel is responsible for monitoring of our 5 land parcels and documenting any incidences that drive deforestation
He is qualified lawyer in Bolivia
