Our Projects

The REDD+ project is in the provinces of Santa Cruz, Cochabamba and El Beni in Bolivia

The project incorporates ~3.5m over 5 land parcels of the owned by indigenous peoples

Around half of Bolivia is covered by a forest ecosystem of significant diversity due to a great variety of climate conditions

The project area makes up of the Amazon basin with most of its area covered by semi-deciduous forest

Frontier development involving both small, medium and large-scale agricultural producers has, in the last two decades, led to an exponential rate of deforestation

The land parcels have primarily been chosen based on the risk of deforestation and being able to have a significant positive impact on climate change

The REDD+ project is initially an Avoided Unplanned Deforestation and Degradation Project to promote the mitigation of climate change

It has achieved a significant reduction in deforestation and degradation through extensive engagement and training of the local community in conservation and protection measures

The project has continually monitored all areas of the project since 2018

In 2024 the project will evolve to:

  • Adding Sustainable Agriculture, Sustainable Logging and Reforestation as REDD+ methodologies

  • CCB registration

  • Signing further land parcels

Protecting Biodiversity

Bolivia's diversity of animal and plant life is among the greatest in the world. Its location in the tropics combined with variations in topography and climate result in a wide range of ecosystems—from the spectacular mountain landscapes of the Andes to the dense rainforests of the Amazon to the unusual dry forests of the Chaco.

Our projects will aim to help conserve the natural habitat of the region’s biodiversity, including for the threatened Jaguar, Spider Monkey and Giant Otter. Key initiatives may include water quality monitoring and biodiversity monitoring.
